On the way we price

Why we publish flat rates

Because in a hard week, no one should have to negotiate — so we publish one flat price per service and hold to it.

Many providers price cremation by weight, with tiers that rise as a pet gets bigger, and families often encounter extra fees they didn’t expect — a weekend surcharge, or mileage for home pickup. When pricing works that way, the final total can be hard to predict at exactly the moment predictability matters most.

We priced things differently on purpose. One flat rate per service, whatever your pet’s size, whatever day of the week, wherever you are in Los Angeles County.

A six-pound cat and a hundred-and-ten-pound shepherd cost exactly the same, and the price on the phone is the price you pay.

Optional extras & how to pay

What do extra keepsakes cost?

An additional clay paw print or nose print is $50 each, and an ink nose print or paw print is $35 each. These are the only add-ons that carry their own price, and they are always optional.

  • Additional clay paw or nose print — $50 each
  • Additional ink paw or nose print — $35 each
  • Always optional — no one will ever push an upsell on you

If you’d like something more lasting, we also offer cedar memorial urns, biodegradable urns, and memorial jewelry — you can browse the keepsakes page whenever you feel ready, or never at all. Because prices are flat, the amount never changes between your first call and payment.

Included, never a line item

Hand delivery is included — we never ship ashes

When your pet’s ashes are ready, a member of our team drives them back to your home and places them in your hands — they are never mailed and never handed to a courier.

Delivery is part of the flat price, not a line item. Most families have their pet home again within two to three weeks of pickup, and the same care applies whether you live five minutes from us in Glendale or across Los Angeles County.

A few honest answers

Pricing Questions, Answered

How much does it cost to cremate a dog in Los Angeles?
With Passing Paws it is a flat rate at any size: communal cremation is $249, private cremation is $399, and aquamation is $449 — a 110-pound shepherd costs exactly the same as a Chihuahua. Most providers price dog cremation by weight; we never do.
How much does it cost to cremate a cat?
The same flat rates apply: $249 communal, $399 private, $449 aquamation — including home pickup with no carrier and no car ride, the ID tag process, and hand delivery of the ashes back to your home.
How much does pet cremation cost in Los Angeles?
At Passing Paws in Glendale, communal cremation is a flat $249, private cremation is $399, and aquamation is $449 — the same price for every pet, from a hamster to a dog over 100 pounds. There are no weight tiers, weekend fees, or mileage charges. Call (626) 340-0000, answered 8am–8pm every day, and the price you’re quoted is the price you pay.
Does pet cremation cost more for large dogs?
At Passing Paws, no — communal cremation is a flat $249, private cremation $399, and aquamation $449 whether your pet is a hamster or a dog over 100 pounds. Weight-based pricing is common across the industry, since larger pets take more time and fuel to cremate, which is why quotes elsewhere can vary with a pet’s size. We charge one flat rate per service instead, so the price never changes with weight.
Are there any hidden fees for pet cremation at Passing Paws?
No. There are no weekend fees, no weight-based pricing, no mileage charges for home pickup, and no hidden fees of any kind — the price quoted on your first call is the price you pay. The only optional extras are additional keepsake prints: $50 for a clay paw or nose print, $35 for an ink print.
Does the price include pickup and returning the ashes?
Yes — private cremation ($399) includes home pickup and personal hand delivery of the ashes back to your home, typically within 2–3 weeks. Ashes are never shipped and never handed to a courier; a member of the team brings them back personally. Aquamation ashes come home the same way.
How much does in-home pet euthanasia cost in Los Angeles?
In-home euthanasia arranged through Passing Paws is $450 plus a travel fee based on your location. The appointment is performed by Saving Grace Veterinary Services, a separate licensed veterinary practice, and Passing Paws coordinates it and can handle cremation afterward. Call (626) 340-0000, answered 8am–8pm every day, for an exact quote for your address.
What payment methods do you accept for pet cremation?
Passing Paws accepts card payments, Zelle, checks, and cash. Because prices are flat — $249 communal, $399 private, $449 aquamation — the amount never changes between your first call and payment.
