Yes, and gladly
Do you cremate birds, rabbits, and other small pets?
Yes — we cremate birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other small companions, with the same care we give a hundred-pound dog. If your pet isn't one we've named here, call us — we'll say yes if we possibly can. No family will ever hear from us that their goodbye matters less because their companion fit in the palm of a hand.
If you've called around Los Angeles and been told your pet is "too small," or been brushed off with a vague answer, we understand the frustration. Small companions are still companions. A cockatiel who whistled at you every morning for fifteen years, a rabbit who had the run of the living room, a hamster your kids named and fed and loved — each one receives a place in our care, a private cremation if you choose it, and their ashes hand-delivered back home.
The companions we care for include:
- Birds
- Rabbits
- Guinea pigs
- Hamsters
- Reptiles
- Ferrets
One honest price
One flat price — the same for a hamster or a hundred-pound dog
Private cremation is $399, communal cremation is $249, and aquamation is $449 — the same flat prices we charge for a pet of any size. There are no weight fees, no weekend fees, no mileage fees, and no hidden charges of any kind.
A respectful shared option; ashes are not returned
Cremated alone; ashes come home to you
A gentle, water-based alternative to flame
Private cremation at $399 includes everything, no matter how small your companion was:
- Home pickup at your door, typically within 2 hours
- An ID tag that stays with your pet throughout
- An aromatic cedar urn
- A clay keepsake print on a gold display stand, where their little paws allow
- A soft clipping of fur, where possible
- Hand delivery back to your home by our team
Aquamation, a gentle water-based alternative at $449, includes the same cedar urn and keepsake print. Communal cremation at $249 is a respectful shared option; ashes are not returned. A full breakdown of every price lives at pet cremation cost.
Why the price doesn't shrink
The care is the same, so the price is too
We charge one flat rate because the care is identical whether your companion weighed two ounces or a hundred pounds. Most of what you're paying for isn't size — it's a person driving to your home within a couple of hours, individual attention at every step, keepsakes prepared by hand, and a team member returning the ashes to your door instead of a shipping label. None of that gets smaller because your pet was.
Rather than build a discount tier that would quietly change what a family receives, we decided every pet gets the whole standard of care at one honest price. Your parakeet gets the same ID tag, the same cedar urn, and the same hand delivery home as any dog we've ever cared for.
The grief is real
Small pet, real grief
The grief for a small companion is as real as any other, and we treat it that way. A parrot can be a twenty-year presence in a household — a voice in the kitchen every single morning, suddenly gone quiet. A guinea pig is often a child's first best friend, and losing one is often a child's first experience of death. Neither of those losses is small.
When you call us, you will never be rushed, talked out of a private goodbye, or made to feel your loss doesn't warrant one. If you'd like help with the days ahead — including gentle ways to talk with children about losing a pet — we've gathered guidance at pet loss resources.
The homecoming
How it works, from pickup to hand delivery
We typically arrive at your door within 2 hours, anywhere in LA County, and from that first knock your pet stays in our care until a member of our team places the ashes back in your hands. Your pet is held gently with us and accompanied to the crematorium we work with; we receive them back ourselves, then schedule a hand delivery to your home — typically within 2–3 weeks. We never ship ashes.
Call (626) 340-0000 between 8am and 8pm, any day of the week, or book online anytime at app.passingpaws.com/book. If your pet has just passed at home and you're unsure what to do in the next hour, when your pet dies at home walks you through it step by step. We accept card, Zelle, check, and cash.
Hand delivery · includedKeepsakes
Keepsakes sized for little companions
Every private cremation and aquamation includes a clay keepsake print on a gold display stand, made where their little paws allow and prepared with extra care for the smallest companions. Additional clay prints are $50 and ink prints are $35, so siblings or grandparents can each hold one.
If you'd like something more to keep close, we also offer urns, biodegradable urns, and memorial jewelry at products.
