Rooted in Love. Built on Purpose.
Our Why
Passing Paws was founded by Steve, a lifelong Glendale resident and animal lover who grew up surrounded by pets. For Steve, animals weren't just companions — they were family members who deserved care, dignity, and respect in every stage of life, including the last.
After losing his own pet and experiencing the cold, clinical reality of traditional aftercare options, Steve was struck by how little support families received during one of their most vulnerable moments. He watched families be rushed through processes they didn't understand, handed bills they couldn't afford, and denied the dignity of a proper farewell.
He knew there had to be a better way. So he built it.
Our Commitment
At Passing Paws, we partner exclusively with trusted, licensed facilities that share our values. We offer private (individual) cremation, communal cremation, and aquamation — a water-based alternative — so every family can choose what's right for them. For private cremations, a Cremation Identification Tag ensures your pet's ashes are correctly identified throughout the entire process.
Our paw print logo is a reminder of what we believe: that the love between a person and their pet leaves a permanent mark. That mark doesn't disappear when they do. We are here to honor it.
Our Partnership
We are proud to partner with Saving Grace Veterinary Services to provide in-home euthanasia — one of the most compassionate services we can offer a family. Saving Grace shares our belief that no pet should have to spend their final moments in an unfamiliar clinic. Together we provide a seamless experience from the last goodbye through complete aftercare.
We provide compassionate home pickup, private individual cremation, memorial keepsakes, and personal delivery of your pet's ashes. We are the care team that stays with your family from the moment you call to the day your pet comes home.
A licensed veterinary practice specializing in compassionate in-home end-of-life care. Saving Grace brings a licensed veterinarian to your home so your pet can pass peacefully in familiar surroundings, surrounded by the people who love them most.
Our Beginnings
Steve grew up in the Glendale area surrounded by animals of all kinds. From childhood dogs to neighborhood strays his family took in, caring for animals was never a job — it was simply who he was.
Over the years, Steve volunteered with local animal welfare organizations and witnessed firsthand the gap between what families needed and what was available to them. He saw families in his own community struggling to afford basic aftercare. He saw pets being transported in conditions that lacked dignity. He saw families left confused, alone, and without support.
Passing Paws is the answer to everything he witnessed. It is built from personal experience, community love, and an unshakeable belief that every life — no matter how small — deserves a meaningful farewell.
